Biography

Jocelyn Delecour first represented France at the Olympics in 1956, when he was a member of the 4x100 metres track relay team that was eliminated in the semi-finals. He would go on to compete in that event at the next three Olympics, winning bronze in 1964 and 1968. He also took part in the 100 metres in 1960 and 1968, and the 200 metres in 1960 and 1964. He became a world champion in the relay in 1966 and was runner-up in that event at the 1963 Mediterranean Games. Individually, he was the 200 metres bronze medalist and the 100 metres runner-up at the 1958 and 1962 World Championships respectively.

Domestically, Delecour was an eight-time French national champion, winning both the 100 and 200 metres in 1958, 1961, and 1962, and the 200 metres again in 1963 and 1964. He also had an additional nine podium finishes in those events between 1957 and 1967.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.31 (1959); 200 – 20.7 (1963).
