Biography

In addition to being a champion sprinter Herminio Ahumada later became a politician for the Mexican Revolution Party, serving as the President of the Chamber of Deputies in 1944. Ahumada ran in the 100 metres and 200 metres at the 1924 Paris Olympics but did not advance from the heats in either race. At the 1926 Central American and Caribbean Games in Mexico City he won gold in the 4 × 100 metres relay along with Francisco Ramírez, Mariano Aguilar, and Mario Gómez.

Ahumada graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico with a degree in law and became involved in politics with the 1928 federal elections. He then served as a judge and magistrate before working for the Superior Court of Justice of the Federal District from 1940 to 1943.

Personal Bests: 100 – 11.0 (1924); 200 – 23.8 (1923).
