Biography

Lydmila Rogachova was among the world’s top female 1,500 runners in the early 1990s. She was the 1994 European Champion and won the 1991 World Indoor title, adding silvers at the 1994 European Indoors and 1992 Olympics, and bronzes at the 1989 Universiade, 1991 Worlds, and the 1994 Europeans and Goodwill Games. After the 1994 season, Rogachova continued to compete, but without the same level of success. Rogachova was the 1990 Soviet 1,500 champion, the 1992 CIS 800 champion, and the Russian 1,500 champion in 1993-94 and 1999-2000.
