Trude Dybendahl-Hartz has three Olympic silver medals, all as a member of the Norwegian cross-country relay team in 1988, 1992 and 1994. Her best individual Olympic placing was fourth at the 1994 Lillehammer Games at 30 km. She was World Champion in the 5 km at Val di Fiemme in 1991, also winning silver at 15 km in 1991 and bronze at 5 km in Falun in 1993. Her last World Championship medal came in Trondheim 1997 as a member of the silver medal winning Norwegian relay team. She ended her international championships career at the 1998 Nagano Games, where a sixth place in the 15 km was her best finish. Dybendahl-Hartz won six individual national championships: 5 km in 1989, and 1991-93 and 30 km in 1990-91. She married Danish cross-country skier and geologist Ebbe Hartz after the 1994 Winter Games, although they later divorced. Dybendahl-Hartz ended her career in 1998, and began to work in a bank. She later started her own firm, giving lessons in ski technique for adults, and has also published a book on ski technique.
