Bud Somerville was an American curler who competed in the curling demonstration events at both the 1988 and 1992 Olympics. Somerville was a two-time World Champion, winning in 1965 and 1974. He was also a five-time US Champion, and was on winning teams at the 1974 and 1978 Air Canada Silver Broom Championship. Somerville was inducted into the United States Curling Hall of Fame in 1984. He is often considered the father of American curling.
