Snowboarding at the 2018 Winter Olympics

Dates 10 – 24 February 2018
Medal Events 10

Snowboarding at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games was held at the Bongpyeong Phoenix Park in PyeongChang, South Korea. A total of 244 competitors from 29 nations competed in 10 events (five men, five women ) between 10 - 24 February 2018. A total of 258 quota spots were available to athletes to compete at the Games (142 men and 116 women) with final entry numbers sitting at 244 (137 men, 107 women).

Since it’s inception onto the Olympic programme at the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano, snowboarding continues to add events. At PyeongChang 2018, big air made its Olympic debut. The parallel slalom event, which made its debut four years earlier at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, was dropped from the Games in 2018 in favor of a new big air event.

The United States won a total of seven medals (four gold, two silver, one bronze) in PyeongChang widening their lead on the all-time medal count to 31 over Switzerland, who is a distant second with 13. There were two Americans on the podium in the women’s halfpipe with Chloe Kim winning gold and Arielle Gold winning bronze. The only events where the United States did not win a medal was in the men’s and women’s parallel giant slalom, and men’s and women’s boardercross.
