This event required two shoot-offs. The United States, South Africa, and Sweden tied with 287. A shoot-off was necessary because all three nations recorded 37 6s, and 13 5s. In the first shoot-off, Sweden was eliminated with 275. The original scores gave Sweden 283 and the United States 282. Later that night the targets were re-examined and the United States’ score was changed to 283, necessitating another shoot-off. The United States won the second shoot-off, 284-279.
