Biography

Ioannis Theofilakis served in the Army in World War I and later became a successful lawyer, before going into exile on the island of Folegrandos during the authoritarian anti-democratic regime of Ioannis Metaxas from 1936-40. Theofilakis lost his assets during the Greek civil war (1946-49). He later resumed his work as a lawyer in a small law office. Together with his brother Alexandros Ioannis was an avid hunter. The brothers competed in six Olympic Games in pistol and rifle shooting. In 1968 Ioannia Theofilakis died after a hunting trip.
