Biography

Yukio Endo won seven Olympic medals and five gold medals in gymnastics. He helped Japan to the all-around team championship in 1960, 1964, and 1968. In 1964 he was the individual all-around champion and added a gold medal on the parallel bars. His other two individal medals were silver in the 1964 floor exercises and the 1968 horse vault. Endo won only one individual title at the World Championships – the 1962 floor exercise title. In 1962 he won seven medals at the Worlds, and followed that with three more in 1966. In both years, he won golds with the Japanese team.
