Åke Borg had the following podium finishes at major championships: 3rd in the 1924 Olympics 4×200 metres Freestyle Relay; 2nd in the 1927 European Championships 4×200 metres Freestyle Relay (with Aulo Gustafsson, Eskil Lundahl, and Arne Borg), 3rd in the 1926 European Championships 4×200 metres Freestyle Relay (with Georg Werner, Eskil Lundahl, and Arne Borg).
