Biography

A champion at international bobsled competitions, Dave MacEachern most notable successes came at the 1996 World Championships, where he won a silver medal in the two-man event, and at the 1998 Winter Olympics, where he won the gold medal in the same event (shared with the Italian team) after recovering from an ankle chip fracture and torn quadriceps the previous year. He retired from the sport and has since worked as a motivational speaker and a professional strength coach under contract with Nike, for LPGA golfer Lorie Kane and numerous Canadian ice hockey players among others, and was a CBC commentator for bobsled and skeleton events at the 2006 Winter Olympics. MacEachern’s athletic talents are not limited to winter events; in high school he excelled at track and field and is seeking to renew his vigor in the sport by competing in future Masters Championships.
