The two well established competitions for “Town Planning” and “Architectural Design“ were held again in London. All medals were awarded as well as additional honorable mentions. The exhibits for the two competitions were identical, but were assessed separately for both categories. Therefore, works that were not awarded with a medal cannot be attributed to either category. A total of 55 architects, including one woman, from 14 countries submitted 46 projects.
The jury included - as in 1936 - the Dutchman Jan Wils. He also submitted a design and took part in the competition.
