Biography

German short tracker Arian Nachbar participated in three consecutive Olympic Winter Games from 1998 at Nagano to 2006 at Torino, but never reached a final. He was more successful at European Championships, earning the gold medal with the relay in 2005, when he also won silver in the all-round event. Nachbar also won two relay bronzes, in 2002 and 2004.

Domestically, Nachbar won four titles and later became a short track coach. He started his coaching career at the Regional Olympic Centre at Rostock and became regional chief coach of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 2020.
