Biography

All-round track and field athlete George Barber represented the Central YMCA in Toronto with him becoming the Canadian champion in the 120 yards hurdles (1907, 1909), and the high jump (1907). Barber was selected to compete in multiple events at the 1908 London Olympics. His best results came in the high jump and the long jump, finishing 10th and 19th, respectively. He competed in both the standing high jump and the standing long jump, but his results were not recorded. Barber was also scheduled to compete in the 400 metres, 110 metres hurdles, triple jump, and the javelin, but he did not start in those.

Personal Bests: HJ – 1.83 (1909); LJ – 6.78 (1910).
