Biography

Shot putter Ivan Ivančić competed at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics but failed to make it out of qualifying at either Games. He won seven Yugoslavian titles in 1970-75 and 1977, and set six Yugoslav records in the shot put. Ivančić was 1975 Mediterranean Games champion and added a bronze in that event in 1979. He also won bronze twice at the European Indoors, in 1980 and 1983, and was the 1970-72 Balkan Games Champion.

Personal Best: SP – 20.77 (1983).
