Biography

The high point of Harald Winkler’s career came when he won a gold medal in four-man at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, riding with pilot Ingo Appelt, Gerhard Haidacher, and Thomas Schroll. Winkler competed at three Olympics, also placing fifth in two-man and seventh in four-man in 1988, and fourth in four-man in 1994. At the World Championships he garnered two medals, a silver in 1993 at Igls, and a bronze in 1990 at St. Moritz, both in four-man.
