Tracy Jaeckel

Tracy Jaeckel won the 1928 IFA épée individual championship while a student at Princeton. After graduation he never managed to win a national individual title, but became primarily known as a great team fencer, sharing in seven national épée team titles, and two national three-weapon team titles. Jaeckel graduated Princeton in 1928 and joined the family business, Jaeckel, Inc., a well-known furrier. It later merged to become Gunther-Jaeckel, and shortly thereafter, Tracy Jaeckel left the company, moving to the Virgin Islands, where he ran an exclusive men’s haberdashery. He was also president of the Virgin Islands Fencing Federation.
