Biography

Dragutin Čermak played basketball for Yugoslavia at the 1968 and 1972 Olympic Games, winning a silver medal in 1968. He also won a gold medal at the 1970 World Championships, and silver medals at the 1969 and 1971 European Championships. Čermak began playing with Radnički in Beograd, then moved to Partizan in 1969, later playing for Donar in the Netherlands and Liège in France, before finishing his career back at Radnički.

Čermak went into coaching, leading national teams in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, France, Jordan, and Algeria. He was the son of Nedeljko Čermak, a well-known businessman and president of KK Partizan from 1970-72. Dragutin Čermak married actress Vesna Malohodžić.
