The equestrian competition was held in and around the Beerschot Stadium. In addition to the Olympic medals, two Challenge Cups were offered. The winning team in the team jumping competition was Sweden, and it was awarded the gold statue that had been donated by the King of Italy. The overall equestrian challenge was won by Sweden, which earned that nation the cup donated by the Swedish Cavalry. In all, Sweden won four of the seven gold medals and almost half the total medals awarded.
