Andreas Widhölzl was one of the most prominent and successful Austrian ski jumpers. The three-time Olympian from 1998 at Nagano until 2006 at Torino won the team gold medal in 2006 and two more bronze medals in 1998 with the team and individually in the normal hill event.
Widhölzl also won the Four Hills Tournament in 2000 and four single events in Four Hills Tournaments. In 2005, he added two more gold medals in the normal and the large hill team competitions. In 1999, he added a team bronze medal. At the World Ski Flying Championships Widhölzl earned two individual silver medals in 2000 and 2006, and a team bronze medal in 2004.
Widhölzl won 24 World Cup jumping events in total, 18 individual and 6 team jumping events. In 1998, he was awarded the Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria. He later turned to coaching and became head coach of the Austrian ski jumping team in 2020.
